director biography

synopsis

"Carne Traída" is a ten-minute experimental visual chronicle that explores a woman's trance, hallucination and enchantment during a ferry crossing. The film proposes a sensorial journey that mixes reality and imagination.

Director Statement:
Carne Traída" confronts the theme of misogyny and fantasy, exploring these issues within the specific context of Amazonian territorialities, the boats. The purpose of the production is to contribute to a platform for experiences that are often silenced and naturalized, especially in common places of the commuting experience in the northern Brazilian region. The film addresses delicate and uncomfortable issues that have a profound impact on women's lives and mental health.
