synopsis

On his journey through the depths of his past, a man finds himself submerged in a flood of nostalgic memories shared with his grandmother. As he searches for an answer, he ponders the fate of his deceased poplar tree, yearning to know if it still breathes with life.

Director's Statement:
As a director, this short film has a deeply personal and heartfelt meaning for me. It serves as a vessel to explore themes of grief, the cyclical nature of life, and the power of memory. It is not only a tribute to my beloved grandmother (Martha Boghossian), but also a tribute to the late Lebanese actress (Julia el-Rami) who passed away shortly after the completion of our filming.

Through this film, I aim to delve into the deep emotional journey of our protagonist as he navigates the realms of nostalgia and loss. It's an exploration of the intricate tapestry of grief, where the past intertwines with the present, and cherished memories become a guiding light through the darkness.

By juxtaposing man's personal quest with the poplar tree's enigmatic destiny, I seek to capture the essence of the cycle of life itself. Just as the tree stands as a symbol of growth, resilience, and eventual decay, our characters grapple with the ephemeral nature of existence, contemplating the eternal echoes left behind.
