Ilja SIRČENKO is a Belgian videographer, photographer, and musician, originally from the Soviet Union. He resided, studied, and worked in Latvia until 2009.
Upon completing his studies at Riga Technical University with a degree in Aviation Mechanical Engineering in 2009, he relocated to Malta, where he worked as an aviation technician at Lufthansa Technic.
In late 2010, he moved to Brussels, Belgium, to further his studies in French and explore various professional avenues.
Since 2011, he has been actively involved in Russian amateur theater, as well as appearing in films, TV series, and commercials.
In 2016, he directed a stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's film "Rope".
The same year, he founded the musical band "Exebiche" and composed their debut álbum, "Exit".
In 2018, he started studying in the School of Photography and Videography by Agnes Varda in Brussels, immersing himself in street photography.
He graduated from the school in December 2023 and released a short documentary "Brussels Close-Up", focusing on street photography in the city.

synopsis

"Brussels Close-Up" follows a street photographer in Brussels who uses unexpected flash photography to capture the essence of strangers in public spaces. Through an upcoming exhibition, he aims to challenge the notion of art and explore the boundary between candid documentation and artistic expression.
