synopsis

Fearful of growing oppression in the face of the military dictatorship, Marlene and Hélio cling to the hope of finding shelter in an abandoned residence, in the interior of the state of Ceará. As they settle into this mansion, Délia, the couple's daughter, finds a statue of the goddess Artemis and the entire family becomes involved in the intriguing presence of the figure, especially Hélio, who develops a disturbing relationship with her and, little by little, , he starts not recognizing himself.

Maria Tamires is an undergraduate student in Bachelor of Cinema and Audiovisual at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). She works as a paid monitor of the Scriptwriting for Cinema and Audiovisual subjects, through the Teaching Initiation Program, under the guidance of Prof. Marcelo Dídimo Souza Vieira. It is mainly dedicated to the genres of horror, suspense and situational comedy. In June 2022, she scripted the short “Prenúncio”, which was shown at the internal exhibition of the UFC's Cinema and Audiovisual course, "Percursos", and won the award for Best Editing at the Alvorada School Cinema Festival. Soon after, together with Victor Emanuel Borges, she co-scripted and co-directed the university suspense short “Artemis”, based on the opera of the same name by Alberto Nepomuceno, a great composer from Ceará. In addition to working as a scriptwriter in the comedy group in the script room for the tokusatsu audio series that was a finalist on Spotify's Sound Up program, “Baía Vermelha".
Victor Emanuel Borges is an undergraduate student in Bachelor of Cinema and Audiovisual at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). Fascinated by writing, Victor writes and produces genre films. In 2022, he was production director and art director on the short film “Prenúncio”, which was shown at the internal exhibition of the UFC's Cinema and Audiovisual course, "Percursos", and won the award for Best Editing at the School Cinema Festival from Alvorada. Then, together with Maria Tamires, he co-scripted and co-directed the short “Artemis”, a thriller based on an opera by Alberto Nepomuceno, an important composer from Ceará, selected for the VI University Exhibition of the Gramado Film Festival. He currently serves as Executive Producer on the winning Audio-series of Spotify’s Sound Up 2022/23 program “Baía Vermelha”.
